1994

South Hadley, coached by Steve Dubilo, wins an overtime thriller on
Thanksgiving to put them into the WMASS Superbowl. In the Superbowl, as the underdog against a powerful Central team, South Hadley stunned the crowd by scoring a touchdown with no time remaining to pull within 15-14. A failed 2 point conversion for the win left the Tigers short of victory on the scoreboard, but they earned the respect of football fans across the Pioneer Valley. It was the first Superbowl appearance for the South Hadley football team.

2005

Under Head Coach Ray Ferro, the Tigers earned a berth to the Division 1A superbowl to face CMASS favorite Milford. With an inspriing display of teamwork and balance the Tigers offense dominated the first half and jumped out to an 18-0 lead. During the second half, it was the defenses turn to completely stifle the CMASS player of the year, Milford QB Tyler Jonston, and the Redhawks high powered offense. In the end, South Hadley held on for the shut out victory, the first Super Bowl win in school history.

2006

The Tigers repeated as Suburban League Champions going undefeated in league play earning a second straight trip to the Div. 1A Superbowl for a rematch with CMass power Milford. Milford avenged their 2005 loss to the Tigers with a 20-0 victory. The Tigers were up to the test, but a penalty on a 1st quater goal line stand and an interception in the endzone stifled hopes for back to back Superbowl victories.

2007

The Tigers continued to roll as one of the Suburban League powers finishing 6-1 and in 2nd place to East Longmeadow. This earned the Tigers a spot in the newly formatted playoff system for a rematch with E.L. In a hotly contested game the TIgers defense shined holding All-State running back Chris Setian in check for most of the game. After a scoreless first half, the Spartans finally got on the board with a field goal in the 3rd quarter. Two late touchdowns sealed the deal as the Tigers offense was too little too late in the end.

2008

For the 3rd time in 4 years, the Tigers were atop the Suburban League going 6-1 while earning the #1 seed for the Division 2 playoffs. A rematch of the 2007 playoff with East Longmeadow did not disappoint fans. A defensive battle for most of the game, the Tigers held the top rated running back in the league (Joe Bonano) and the top scoring offense to less than 100 total yards and did not surrender a score. Key turnovers recovered by James Chehade sparked the 4th quarter scoring spree by the offense. An early touchdown by Nick Mulveyhill and two late scores by Ben Desmarais put S.H. ahead for good as they held on for a 21-14 victory and their thrid trip to the Super Bowl in 4 years. In the Super Bowl South Hadley would face 12-0 Tantasqua. After jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter SH fell victim to three key turnovers, which Tantasqua capitalized on taking a 10-6 lead into halftime. After givng up a score early in the 3rd quarter the defense tightened and the offense seemed up to the task of another come from behind victory. After a key Brad Bell interception the offense got rolling behind huge runs by the backfield trio of Nick Mulveyhill, Ben Desmarais and Brad Bell. A two yard plunge by Desmarais and the ensuing 2 point conversion pulled SH to within 3. After another defensive stop deep in their own territory, the Tigers once again were poised to score after driving the length of the field, but a penalty halted the drive short of the endzone with only 5 seconds remaining. A field goal attempt to put the game into overtime was blocked as time expired and the Tigers fell just shy of a second Super Bowl title.
